“The goal of Animation Club is to develop animations of the members’ creative writing and original* ideas; to take creative writing to another form of expression. Members will work in a professional business style with project teams and deadlines. Animation Club will provide opportunities for creative writers, illustrators, computer experts, and voice-over artists. To participate in Animation Club, members will be expected to exhibit professional decorum.

History of the Club

The Concept

A local writer's dream of making an animation of his story was the catalyst for presenting a request to their local administrators for animation software. xnumberoneatheistx's series Hansel and Gretel and the Attack of the Prunes was read and reviewed as a 5 star achievement. The characters and setting he had created inspired him and ManMusic565 to sketch a few illustrations for the story. One day when xnumberoneatheistx and KBTemp were discussing books, movies and soundtracks, xnumberoneatheistx said "Wouldn’t it be cool to make a movie of my story?"

Our Research

“January 2007, we went about researching animation software by finding top programs that are well-known, recently updated and Apple compatible**. We narrowed our list down by trying to find software that would benefit our needs. Maya, Anime Studio 5, Anime Studio Pro 5, Bahaus Mirage Studio and ToonBoom were some of the many products that we considered.” -xnumberoneatheistx

Our criteria included:

-No time limit

-Flexibility between human and animal forms

-Able to import our original artwork

-A choice between 2D and 3D animation

-Audio soundtracks

On March 6, 2007, our founders, xnumberoneatheistx and ManMusic565 presented a request to Mrs. Fosberg for animation software. After researching products, Anime Studio Pro 5 was chosen.

**Windows compatibility was also looked at as most of the potential members worked at home on a Windows OS. The office, where we worked, however, has only Apple computers.
